Daily Devotional

It’s about 11:30pm on a Saturday night and I am in bed trying to unwind from my hectic day. One way that I like to unwind is by reading my daily devotional. I have the Jesus Calling devotional by Sarah Young and I absolutely love it. I received this devotional a couple years ago and have continued to read it throughout the years. It seems to get more powerful as time goes on. In this particular devotional, the daily devotionals are all written out where you can clearly understand them with the proper verse that goes along with it. I’d like to share with you today’s devotional because it really hit home for me. So here it goes….

“Let me show you my way for you this day. I guide you continually, so you can relax and enjoy my presence in the present. Living well is both a discipline and an art. Concentrate on staying close to me, the divine artist. Discipline your thoughts to trust me as I work my ways in your life. Pray about everything; then, leave outcomes up to me. Do not fear my will, for through it I accomplish what is best for you. Take a deep breath and dive into the depths of absolute trust in me. Underneath are the everlasting arms!”

The verses that go with this passage are Psalm 5:2-3 which states, “Listen to my cry for help, my King and My God, for you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” Deuteronomy 33:27 states, “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you saying, “Destroy him!”

Sometimes life can be so overwhelming and the only thing I feel that I can rely on is the Lord. When I sit down and pray, or sit down and read my devotional, I feel a sense of peace wash over me. There are times when I start to feel frustrated with a situation or person and I just take a deep breath and ask the Lord to give me patients to cope with this. Wondering if anyone else can relate to this feeling of peace. I would love to hear some of your stories of how the Lord has provided for you or has helped you during hard times in your life. If you are not a believer, I would still love to hear your stories of how you have overcome difficult times.

I thank you all for following me and reading this blog. I hope you all have a great night and/or day depending on when you actually read this. ❤

God Bless,

Cayla

If anyone is interested in purchasing the Jesus Calling devotional, you can visit the website: http://www.jesuscalling.com/

Here is an example of what the devotionals look like. There are a couple different versions. For example, this one has the verses at the bottom, but in other versions the verses are completely written out. So if you are interested in purchasing you have a couple different options, but they are essentially the same content. 🙂
