Tonight’s Daily Devotional

Hi there friend!

Sorry that it’s taken me a couple days to write something. Been a little preoccupied. Tonight I wanted to share my daily devotional with you. Reading my daily devotional is something that gives me fuel, hope, faith, and a sense of peace. When I miss out on it I just don’t feel the same.

Tonight’s daily devotional is from my Jesus calling by Sarah Young. It says:

“Self-pity is a slimy, bottomless pit. Once you fall in, you tend to go deeper and deeper into the mire. As you slide down those slippery walls, you are well on your way to depression, and the darkness is profound. Your only hope is to look up and see the light of my presence shining down on you. Though the light looks dim from your perspective, deep in the pit, those rays of hope can reach you at any depth. While you focus on me in trust, you rise ever so slowly out of the abyss of despair. Finally, you can reach up and grasp my hand. I will pull you out into the light again. I would gently cleanse you, washing off the clinging more. I will cover you with my righteousness and walk with you down the path of life.”

Tonight’s passages are from Psalm 40:2-3, Psalm 42:5, and Psalm 147:11.

Every time I read my daily devotional I feel like it hits home for me. It is so relevant to things that are going on in my life, and I am so grateful for that. I am grateful that the Lord is there to lift me out of depression and to bring me into the light again. I am thankful for his righteousness and his grace!

Tonight I just want to encourage you if you are a believer in Christ, to just say a prayer to him tonight. I don’t know what you’re going through, I don’t know where you are on your walk with the Lord, but just ask him to be with you and give you strength. No matter what you are going through, you can get through it! ā¤
